About Alumim citrus fruit

In 1974, Kibbutz Alumim received land from the Jewish Agency for Israel for its first citrus fruit orchard. The plot, which was planted in 1965, spread over 220 dunams (55 acres). Our citrus fruit is cultivated for marketing in Israel and abroad.

We grow the following species:

  • Lemons
  • Oranges: our best-known varieties are Shamouti, Tabori, Sammy, Valencia
  • Clementines: Ora, Mor, Or
  • Grapefruit: Red Sunrise
  • Pomelit: Sweetie
  • Pomelo: Goliath

Today, the Alumim citrus orchards extend over an area of 1,200 dunams (300 acres) and produce close to 5,000 tons of fruit per year of different varieties.
